About our Arts Open House and I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue Fundraiser

In the Flow Studios Arts Open House and I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue Fundraiser

In the Flow Studios Arts is hosting an Arts Open House & ICARE Dog Rescue Fundraiser in the city of La Mirada on Sunday, Aug. 17th from 4:30pm - 8:30pm.

We will have talented visual artists showing their work as well as inspired performing artists sharing their art. Our events are created with the artist and art-lover in mind. The atmosphere is grass roots, authentic and inclusive. In the Flow Studios Arts invites veteran artists and new comers alike to show and share their work. We use the arts as tools for personal development, community building and helping worthy causes. Our generous artists are also donating arts and services for a silent auction and 50% of admission goes to I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue.

I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is an incredible organization totally run by volunteers. They have saved over 1,000 dogs and are always bringing new dogs in need into safe homes. Use hyperlink to I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is known for opening their hearts and rescue to dogs that are minutes away from being PTS, dogs that have been neglected and abused, dogs that have no home, sick or injured dogs and dogs who's families couldn't keep them anymore. 

Here is a video of our Pit Bull Mix Ke-ola. It's a heartfelt thank you to ICARE and all the other kindhearted humans that showed him kindness, gave him health and gave him his trust back. (Ke-ola was saved by ICARE and fostered and adopted by In the Flow Studios founder and her family)

Kadante Ferrer Artist Highlight
Kadante Ferrer, founder of Hip Hop Martial Arts is one of our featured performers. He'll be bringing the elements of fire, air, earth and metal to the show.  Hip Hop Martial Arts™ is an original art style that combines aspects of Hip Hop, Martial Arts, Tricking, Breaking, Self-defense, Weaponry and more, into creative & effective movement.

Island Fitness by Ilima Artist Highlight
Ilima Pumphrey is a fourth generation Polynesian dancer, performer and instructor. She is the founder of Island Fitness by Ilima and lead dancer for Nonosina. Ilima brings her 20+ years of experience to everything she does. Island Fitness by Ilima "An effective Polynesian workout" Island drum beats, intense hip shaking and lyrical ground movements make Island Fitness a unique, exciting and fun choose of training.

Mahal Ramos Artist Highlight
Mahal Ramos: Born in Manila, Philippines, and garnering influences from the busy, neighborhood streets of New Jersey blended with the casual energy of California living, Mahal Ramos is an articulate poet and writer who delivers a refreshing rhythm and energy that gives a renaissance experience to poetry. She as an inspiration to her fellow poets as well as her audiences. Mahal is a courageous poet who's always willing to be authentic and to speak her heart. Roland HS Ferrer Artist Highlight
Roland H. S. Ferrer is a multitalented and versatile artist. He will be participating in Filipino martial arts, harp performances and sculpture. His sculptures are surreal and layered. He made a special piece titled "Forgotten Angels", because every dog PTS is an angel lost to the worldRoland is best known for his music. He is a professional harpist, specializing in free-flow. Evan Eliason Artist Highlight
Evan Eliason is a talented musician, teacher, composer and performer. He graduated from Biola University and shares his musical education and experience with his La Mirada High School String Orchestra students. He is also the base guitarist for the band My Double, My Brother. The band has a unique style and sound. Described as a fusion of Indie and Alternative, My Double, My Brother, offers listeners great musicality and meaningful lyrics. Each song stands alone as a finely crafted poem of rhythms and sounds and words. They're music soothes the soul of what ails it and awakens the spirit of possibilities.


Myranda Josephson Artist Highlight
Myranda Josephson is a freelance photographer based in Southern California. She is the founder of Myranda Josephson Photography, specializing in portrait and couples documentation. She is best known for her ability to capture important and intimate life events with beauty and sincerity. Eric Jimenez Artist Highlight
Eric Jimenez has a depth in his work and in his thinking well beyond his years. His art is about much more than colors and lines. In Eric's words, "I am a 20 year old artist who goes by the name of 'BZRK' (buh-zerk). The name is an acronym for 'Blissful Zen Reality Kingdom' which is a vision that I hold true to my heart, representing the idea that there is an inner kingdom within every single one of us. The mask serves its purpose by eliminating my sense of self, and the crown is there to remind everyone of the inner kingdom. "


PaaMano Eskrima Arts Highlight
We are grateful to have preforming arts representatives from both PaaMano Eskrima Performing Arts program and Kadan Martial Arts program share their talents at our event. 

PaaMano Eskrima and Performing Arts Through our style of Filipino Martial & Performing Arts we hope to convey the rich history, cultural diversity and natural beauty of the Philippines. Our organization’s hopes are that through sharing and teaching our style of Filipino Martial Arts & Performing Arts we can share the beauty and culture of the Philippines with the world. We hope the PaaMano Organization will inspire future generations of Filipinos worldwide to learn more about their history, culture and the natural treasures of The Philippines. We've toured from San Francisco to Sand Diego!
Kadan Martial Arts Highlight

Kadan Martial Arts was established in 1992. We are committed to helping and supporting each student develop his/her unique talents. Each of us has important gifts to share with the world. At Kadan, we use the martial arts as a tool to help our students unlock those gifts and focus on the possibilities. We have been dedicated for over 20 years to empowering humanity one student at a time. We believe that through positive and proactive involvement in the everyday lives of others we can help create a better community and a better future for ourselves and our children.


Sarah Raine Behl Artist Highlight
Sarah Raine Behl is a versatile and multitalented artist. She will be sharing her incredible visual arts at our event. She has developed her craft through, California College of the Arts, Fine Arts - Painting · San Francisco, California. She's as diverse in her training as she is in her talent making her next art stop training at Dr. Sketchy's Anti- Art School: Anaheim. Her visual work is inspired. She works in a variety of mediums but the results are always the same...brilliant! "I use oil painting and charcoal to create visions that inspire me. I use surrealism to portray my experiences and dreams." Sarah Raine Behl


Molly Bupp Artist Highlight
Molly Bupp is one of our featured young artists to participate in our upcoming event. A fifteen year old sophomore, Molly brings a fresh and playful eye to her style of art. She's a resilient, mature and talented individual. She has overcome incredible physical challenges that have made her a force to be reckoned with. The pain Molly has endured on her journey translates into a young person with an intuitive understanding of life. She has earned her 1st Degree Black Belt at Kadan Martial Arts and is a favorite assistant teacher. Wise beyond her years, she uses the arts as part of her healing process.

Mana Keepers & Dewdrops Images will be showing beautiful natural treasures in the form of rocks, minerals and images. They will also be offering many for sale at our event and 10% of all sales will goto ICARE Dog Rescue.

Mark Bupp Artist Highlight
Mark Bupp and Digital Productions have kindly agreed to come out and film our event! They are donating their time and services to document the performances for In the Flow Studios and ICARE Dog Rescue. Digital Productions is also donating to our ICARE silent auction. Digital Productions was born out of Mark's love and passion for photography and videography. Mark is dedicated to capturing and persevering your important life moments and events for more over 7 years.

Ruben Palma Artist Highlight
One of our featured Artisans, Ruben Palma, also known by his Aztec or *Nahuatl name Tepeyolotl Mallinalli, is an amazing craftsman. He is also very active in the local Aztec Community and participates in traditional holidays and celebrations. He is an avid Aztec Dancer and lives to share his cultural heritage through performances and his traditional artwork and handcrafts. A respect for all that Mother Nature represents is a cornerstone in his work.
