Hip Hop Martial Arts performing CubaPino at In the Flow Studios Arts Open House

Kadante set our night on fire! He brought the flavor of his Island Heritage combined with his US Roots to his performance titled "CubaPino". This three part choreography blended Hip Hop, tricking, martial arts and fire to honor his ancestors (his father is Filipino-American and his mother is Cuban-American) as well as his home and birthplace the USA. He opened with a tribute to his homeland with some hip hop and breaking then progressed to pay tribute to The Philippines and Sultan Kudarat and his finish with a blazing in tribute to Cuba. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Manuel "Maning" Rivera singing at In the Flow Studios Arts Open House 2013

Maning's performance was a wonderful surprise...for him. His reputation proceeded him so without his knowledge we called him to sing. A polished performer and singer, he didn't skip a beat and rose to the occasion beautifully.

Manuel "Maning" Rivera, a veteran director of film, commercials and documentaries, is also a charming and entertaining events emcee and comedian. With his depth of talent in acting, singing and graphic design, Maning is unmistakably a true entertainer.

Caleb Callison performing songs from his "Chasing Ghosts Series"

Caleb Callison is an incredible young singer/songwriter/musician. His music is honest, introspective and full of heart. He invites listeners to accompany him on his soul searching journeys with his songs. His lyrics and music are dripping with raw emotion and a depth far beyond his years.

We were honored to have him perform three of his original songs, "At War, Forevermore", "Ol' Wood Box" and "The Death of an Outlaw" at our In the Flow Studios Arts Open House.

This is a link to a video of his live performance.

In Caleb’s words, "I Am Chasing Ghosts is a collection of tales, both tall and true. They are a tribute to the lives and stories that have come to pass, and a reminder that the ghosts of your own past, are after all, merely ghosts."

Myths come from the artist... Joseph Campbell

"There is no humanity in the state. What runs the world is economics and politics, and they have nothing to do with the spiritual life. So we are left with this void. It's the job of the artist to create these new myths. Myths come from the artists." Joseph Campbell (from a 1985 interview with Chris Goodrich in Publisher's Weekly)

Art is important! Keep writing, choreographing, acting, performing, singing, playing music, painting, drawing, designing, taking photos...humanity needs your art!

"Dewdrops" original harp composition by Roland H. Ferrer

Roland (here at age 14) has been gracing art shows with live performances for years. Here he is performing an original song for Mana Keepers Arts Open House. His compositions are written to promote mental, physical and emotional healing.

The Guest House ~ Rumi

THE GUEST HOUSE

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

- Jelaluddin Rumi,
translation by Coleman Barks
